Wouter Leibbrandt is Senior Director of NXP Research where he manages the Advanced Applications Lab. This lab investigates new application concepts around future advanced silicon products, among others in the area of smart living,
wireless sensor networks, digital connectivity and sustainable energy management.
He has been with NXP semiconductors since 2006. Before that, he was with Philips Research labs for 14 years, managing a variety of projects and departments. From 2004 to 2006 he lived and worked in China, managing part of the
Philips Research labs in Shanghai.
Wouter is on the advisory board of the Smart Energy Collective, he is a member of the working group Savings in Electricity of the Dutch Agency for Energy Transition and takes part in various other committees in the area of sustainability
and energy management.
Wouter holds a PhD in physics from Utrecht University. He lives with his wife and three teen-age children in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
